Building momentum week to week is a must in college football and the Penn State Nittany Lions head coach, James Franklin, believes his team needs to do that and then some in order to come out of this week victorious. Penn State will face another one of their heated and top-ranked rivals, Ohio State, at home on Saturday. For Franklin, his squad has to build upon their victory over Minnesota for momentum against the Buckeyes.

“Yeah, I think so, and it needs to, right? We’re playing a really good opponent at home,” said Franklin. “We did some really good things to build on last week, that we should have confidence and momentum from, and we need to build on it. We need to get better today in practice- get better all week in terms of our preparation and how we practice how we coach. And then, the same thing you know with the game on Saturday. We’re going to have to play better this Saturday than we did than we did this past week. So yeah, I think there’s a ton of stuff to build on from last week. There’s a bunch of stuff watching that tape to be excited about the show the team and we got to build on it for sure.”

Against Minnesota, Penn State put together an impressive performance on the offensive side of the ball. Senior quarterback Sean Clifford had arguably his best performance passing. The senior quarterback completed 23 of his 31 pass attempts for 295 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. And if Penn State is to come out of Saturday victorious, they will likely need a repeat performance from Clifford building off the momentum from the Minnesota victory.

Franklin has clear response to Jim Harbaugh’s recent comments, shot at him

Franklin and Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh recently began a back-and-forth following the incident that happened in the tunnel when their respective programs played earlier in the season.

After Harbaugh fired back at Franklins’ initial comments earlier in the week, the Nittany Lions head man was asked for his thoughts on the reply. Franklin gave a clear and straightforward response to the shot from his coaching peer.

“No. I don’t. Nope I don’t. Ohio State,” said Franklin. “Just so you know, I was saying no I don’t have a comment.”

It appears as if the Penn State head coach will not allow Harbaugh’s comments to bother and affect him and his team going forward. Penn State has an even bigger fish to fry. as Franklin briefly alluded to, up next on their plate is the team ranked above Michigan in the Ohio State Buckeyes. And if the Nittany Lions want to keep their hopes alive for a possible berth in the Big Ten title game appearance, then all their attention must be focused on upsetting the No. 2 team in the country on Saturday.
