Jaquan Brisker takes victory lap on eye-popping Pro Football Focus stats
Former Penn State safety Jaquan Brisker is one of the best prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft. The film doesn’t lie and it’s easy to see when you turn on the tape of the former Nittany Lions’ star. Brisker has been learning from the very best. He’s been training with one of the best players the game of football has ever seen the past few years, LA Rams’ future Hall-of-Fame defensive tackle Aaron Donald. On Sunday, Pro Football Focus posted some eye-popping stats on Twitter from Brisker’s dominant college football career. They gave him a 91.6 PFF Grade (first among Big Ten safeties), a 92.2 coverage grade (first), and 14 forced incompletions (first). Brisker saw that PFF posted the stats and decided to take a victory lap on Twitter.
In the 2021-2022 season for the Nittany Lions, he racked up 64 tackles, six tackles for loss, two interceptions, five pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. Brisker was named a first team All-American after the season by PFF. In 2020, he was named third team All-Big Ten by the league’s coaches.
During three seasons at Penn State, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound defensive back registered 152 tackles and 19 pass deflections. He also added five interceptions and seven tackles for loss during his career. He established himself as one of the game’s elite prospects with his stellar play over the years and the film clearly backs that up. If any safety is allowed to take a victory lap for their body of work at the college level, it’s Brisker.
The former Penn State star comes from a family of great athletes. As NFL Network’s Charles Davis noted on the NFL Network’s Scouting Combine coverage, Brisker’s grandfather, John Brisker, was a two-time NBA All-Star for the Seattle Supersonics.

Brisker is also an inspirational story
His brother, Tale Brisker was shot and killed in Prairie View, Texas. Jaquan Brisker was 19 years old when it happened and as one might imagine, he took it very hard. Before he passed away, Tale recognized the football talent in Jaquan and told him just how good he thought he could be. Those words have stuck and have become a motivating force for Brisker. Coming out of Gateway High School (Pittsburgh, Pa) he only earned one scholarship offer.
From there, he decided to attend junior college at Lackawanna County Community College, where he played for two seasons. Brisker was named a JUCO All-American in 2018 and helped guide Lackawanna to an undefeated record. From there, he moved on to Penn State.
It’s going to be exciting to watch Jaquan Brisker’s story continue on the NFL level. He’s been a special prospect at every level he’s played on thus far and look for the same to continue in the near future.
