Former Penn State DL Jordan van den Berg enters NCAA transfer portal
Former Penn State defensive lineman Jordan van den Berg entered the NCAA transfer portal. This comes on the heels of the defender no longer being with the program as of the end of February.
van den Berg played three seasons with Penn State and played sparingly throughout his time. He logged 25 total tackles, 13 solo tackles, three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.
As a member of the Class of 2020, van den Berg was not ranked, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He played his HS football at Lilburn (G.A.) Providence Christian Academy.
Last spring and summer, van den Berg was regularly praised by head coach James Franklin as a player who impressed.
“It’s an honor that the work is being noticed, and it’s just because the room that I’m in is highly competitive,” van den Berg said. “So I’m competing every day in the weight room, on the field, off the field. So just to be in that type of environment really just pushes me as a person and as a player.”
