Micah Shrewsberry reveals his favorite podium beverage, calls for sponsorship
Penn State head coach Micah Shrewsberry was all smiles after his team’s victory Saturday over Penn State, even if he didn’t have his favorite beverage with him at the post-game press conference.
Shrewsberry started the opening statement of his press conference with a tangent and joke about Dr. Pepper.
“Can I bring my Dr. Pepper in to the press conference?” Shrewsberry said. “Is it the Pepsi product? Is it a coke? It’s neither. It’s in the middle. It’s a free agent. So I can bring it and let people see it and maybe Pepsi’s like, man, we need to pick up Dr. Pepper. People like Dr. Pepper. There’s things that (I’d like to do a) partnership here at some point in time.”
The Nittany Lions won the game by 11 points in a 76-65 win. The team had a great second half where they shot 68% from the floor on their way to 47 points after the break.
Micah Shrewsberry happy after team’s victory
While Micah Shrewsberry didn’t have a Dr. Pepper or any beverage during his press conference after the Nebraska game, he did have a lot to be happy about following the 76-65 victory.

That included the play of guard Andrew Funk, who had 23 points while shooting 8 of 13 from the field and 50% from 3-point land.
Shrewsberry said that he was proud of the way Funk played in response to the previous game where he missed a few key shots at the end.
“I thought this was a big game for us,” Shrewsberry said. “I thought this was a huge game for us to win, especially at home. We want to play well at home. We got to hold serve at home and then try and go steal some on the road. The way he played I thought was huge. He spurred us to a huge win.”
