Penn State's Mehki Flowers enters the NCAA Transfer Portal
Penn State DB Mehki Flowers has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Flowers had spent the past three seasons with the Nittany Lions. He appeared in 14 games and, in that time, posted a pair of assisted tackles for their defense. He then didn’t contribute this season following a position change to receiver
Flowers, a native of Harrisburg just an hour and a half outside of University Park, played high school football at Central Dauphin East. He was the No. 187 overall prospect there as a four-star in the 2022 cycle. He also rated as the No. 5 ATH in the class and the No. 5 player out of the state of Pennsylvania. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. With that, Flowers was seventh highest-rated prospect from an important, top-ten class for the program during that cycle.

Now, Flowers is the latest entry into the portal during this transfer cycle for Penn State. It’s been a busy few days for the Nittany Lions with roster decisions and staff moves, including two portal losses on Monday in Flowers and WR Tyler Johnson. They now join six other members of the team who decided to transfer prior to the end of this season in QB Beau Pribula (Missouri), TE Jerry Cross (Memphis), DL T.A. Cunningham, CB Cam Miller, and WRs Feyisayo Oluleye and Jason Estrella.
