Penn State football players attempt to salsa dance before Saturday practice
College football can be a grind for any player but the Penn State Nittany Lions knows just how to spice it up and take the edge off. No matter how much players love it, fall camp can become bland and vanilla at times for many teams.
That’s why during fall camp, many teams across the country try different things to break up the routine and spice things up a bit. For Penn State, they tried their hand at salsa dancing on Saturday ahead of practice.
Check out the funny video below as several PSU players try their best version of salsa dancing.
Penn State has plenty of reasons to be dancing heading into the 2023 campaign. After all, they’re coming off an impressive 11-2 season last year that ended with a 35-21 victory over the Utah Utes. The Nittany Lions return a loaded roster of weapons on both sides of the football, especially at the running back position.
Nick Singleton racked up 1,061 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns as a freshman. He’ll be joined by another sophomore, Kaytron Allen, who shredded opposing defenses to the tune of 867 yards on the ground and 10 touchdowns as a freshman. Both players figure to form one of the most dynamic backfields in all of college football this year. And they’re just sophomores.

Alabama LB announces plan to transfer
Reigning conference freshman of the year back in running back Nick Singleton highlights the group of returners, as does offensive lineman Olu Fashanu. He was a projected first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but ultimately opted to return to college for one last go-round. While James Franklin hasn’t named a starting quarterback yet, all signs point toward Drew Allar winning the job after a solid freshman season behind Sean Clifford.
That’s just on offense. Abdul Carter and Chop Robinson will both look to anchor the defense after leading Penn State in sacks with 6.5 and 5.5, respectively. With Tyler Elsdon and Kobe King also back in the fold, the Nittany Lions return four of their top five tacklers from 2022.
Penn State also added some playmakers via the transfer portal, most notably wide receiver Dante Cephas. The former Kent State star came in at No. 15 in the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings and is poised to help the Nittany Lions’ passing game, which ranked No. 4 in the Big Ten with 252.5 yards per game in 2022.
Expectations are high in Happy Valley this year as Penn State prepares for its season opener Sept. 2 against West Virginia. That one will kick off at 7:30 PM EST.
