Penn State is trending to add another blue-chipper to its 2025 recruiting class, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

Davie (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna four-star wide receiver Koby Howard is set to announce his decision on Sunday, choosing between the Nittany Lions, Florida, Ole Miss and Florida State. Leading up to his commitment, four picks have been logged in favor of PSU landing the 5-foot-11, 190-pounder.

Howard took his official visit to Happy Valley on the weekend of June 21, then quickly returned for the Lasch Bash Barbecue at the end of July. Receivers coach Marques Hagans, head coach James Franklin and the PSU staff prioritized the pass-catcher and have now locked up another important pledge in the 2025 class.

“I had a good time at the camp as well, learning and taking points from Coach [Marques] Hagans. I did some individual drills with him and one-on-ones,” Howard told BWI following his July visit. “That was a great experience. But overall, the vibe with all of Penn State’s coaches was great. It was a great time.”

Howard is the No. 387 overall prospect and No. 62 WR in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 55 player in Florida.

Nittany Lions pushing for Top-15 recruiting class

June provided an impressive streak of recruiting wins for Penn State, including seven four-stars. Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star cornerback Daryus Dixson, Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph four-star CB Jahmir Joseph and Shawnee (Kan.) Mill Valley four-star EDGE Jayden Woods are all top-200 prospects that joined the fold two months ago.

If Howard were to choose the Nittany Lions, he would be the third blue-chip wideout to join the class. Baltimore McDonogh four-star Jeff Exinor also committed in June, while Brooklyn Erasmus three-star Lyrick Samuel has been in the mix since February.

Some top in-state prospects are in the class as well. Latrobe (Pa.) Greater four-star linebacker Alex Tatsch is an On3 top-100 recruit, Philadelphia Imhotep four-star running back Jabree Wallace-Coleman is On3’s No. 8 RB in the nation and Pittsburgh Imani Christian four-star LB Dayshaun Burnett is a top-10 player in the state.

The class currently ranks No. 17 in the nation and No. 4 in the Big Ten, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Other top commits on the pledge list include: Powhatan (Va.) four-star tight end Matt Henderson, Upper Marlboro (Md.) Riverdale Baptist four-star EDGE Cortez Harris and Miami Booker T. Washington four-star safety Antonio Branch.
