Ahead of the first spring football practice on Monday, the Penn State Nittany Lions revealed the jersey numbers for the 10 newcomers.

Drew Allar, QB – #15
Nick Singleton, RB – #10
Kaytron Allen, RB – #13
Jerry Cross, TE – #88
Omari Evans, WR – #18
Beau Pribula, QB – #9
Mitchell Tinsley, WR – #5
Zane Durant, DL – #28
JB Nelson, OT – #55
Kaden Saunders, WR – #9

Among Penn State’s newcomers are former five-star prospects Drew Allar and Nick Singleton. Singleton was the No. 1-ranked prospect at running back in the country, according to the On3 Consensus.

Mitchell Tinsley, one of two big transfer additions for the Nittany Lions, is a top-five player to watch this spring for the Lions. The Lions will lean on him as they adjust to an offense without Jahan Dotson. Crucially, Tinsley showcased an ability to make explosive plays during his time at Western Kentucky. He averaged 16.1 yards per reception last season, racking up 1,402 yards and 14 touchdowns through the air.

Penn State Spring Football starts Monday

Head coach James Franklin and the Nittany Lions commence their spring practices on Monday, March 21.

In the ensuing five weeks, Penn State will have 14 practices, capped off by the Blue-White Game. In total, they’re permitted to conduct 15 practices in 34 days with 20 hours of team activities each week. The Blue-White Game is on April 23 at Beaver Stadium.

Two tweaks have been implemented to this year’s spring practice format in the form of newly approved rules. They will apply to all Division I football programs as the result of Football Oversight Committee recommendations approved in January.

Under the new rules, full contact cannot exceed 75 minutes for non-scrimmage practices. Practices with full contact also cannot be conducted on consecutive days through the spring practice period.

Both of the new rules were approved by the Division I Council last month in Indianapolis at the NCAA Convention.
