Penn State lands commitment from coveted Division II transfer Alan Herron
Penn State has landed a transfer out of the Division II ranks as offensive tackle Alan Herron announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions via his Instagram, Seth Engle reports.
Herron is originally from Westmoreland, Jamaica, which is the western-most parish in the nation. However, he moved to America to play high school football at Benjamin Banneker Academy in College Park, Georgia. After that, he ended up at D2 school Shorter, where he played a couple of seasons and flashed some major upside.
After courting offers from teams like Miami, Auburn, Arkansas State, Clemson, NC State, Texas Tech and several others, Alan Herron ultimately settled on Penn State and will don the navy and white next fall.
On3’s Transfer Portal Industry Rankings – which combines On3, 247Sports and Rivals for a cumulative grade – rate Herron as the 19th offensive tackle in the portal.
