Penn State has extended an offer to Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek four-star linebacker Jamal Anderson.

He is the No. 202 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The 2023 On300 ranking has him much higher as the No. 101 overall recruit in the class.

The Industry Comparison Tool shows that On3 views Anderson the highest among the major recruiting services. On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power explained why Anderson is ranked highly by the On3 evaluators.

“The national linebacker class is a bit tough to parse at the top,” Power said. “It’s murky at best and debatably weak that this point. Some linebacker prospects who developed a bit later could be primed to make a move. One of those is Jamal Anderson. The 6-foot-4, 195-pounder has seen his stock rise over the last few months, with good reason. Anderson is a fluid, coordinated athlete. He’s a natural mover in space and plays with range and a large sphere of influence. He’s a versatile linebacker who can play in space, cover and rush the passer.”

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6.2k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Penn State holds the fifth spot in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking with seven commits, including Reading (Pa.) Wyomissing four-star interior offensive lineman Jven Williams Fredericksburg (Va.) Riverbend four-star athlete Mathias Barnwell and Ashburn (Va.) Broad Run four-star offensive lineman Alex Birchmeier.
