Penn State running back Nick Singleton is returning for his senior season with the Nittany Lions, he announced in a Twitter graphic on Monday afternoon.

The talented running back accounted for 1,099 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in 2024, while also catching 41 passes for 375 yards and five scores.

“After discussing my football future with my family, I have decided to return to Penn State for the 2025 season,” Singleton wrote. “We still have goals we want to reach as a team, and I want to be alongside my teammates as we reach those goals. I am scheduled to graduate this fall and will earn a degree from Penn State University, which has always been a goal for me.”

Nicholas Singleton’s return will give Penn State a significant piece to work with on offense going forward, coming off a year in which the program reached the College Football Playoff semifinals.

As noted, he was wildly productive as a junior in 2024. Of course, that’s nothing new.

Singleton burst onto the college football scene as a freshman in 2022. He ran for 1,061 yards and 12 touchdowns, instantly becoming a household name in the sport. His success has only continued from there.

As a sophomore in 2023, Nicholas Singleton ran for 752 yards and eight touchdowns. But he increased his productivity as a receiver quite a bit, hauling in 26 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns.

That was an aspect of his game he continued to develop into 2024.

Nicholas Singleton expressed how much it means to him to wear the blue and white, perhaps part of the reason he’s sticking around for another season.

“It has been a true honor to don the blue and white for the last three seasons,” Singleton wrote. “When I set foot into Beaver Stadium, I am aware just how special this place is. Playing in front of college football’s greatest fans is something I have never taken for granted.

“I have been extremely lucky to play for coach (James) Franklin, coach (Ja’Juan) Seider and the rest of this incredible coaching staff. The guys in that running back room, along with the rest of my teammates, are men I will appreciate forever. It has been a privilege to play with those guys, and they mean the world to me, the family environment in the Lasch building is real.

“We have accomplished a lot here, and we took another big step forward this season. But we know we are capable of being even better.”
