Penn State trending for 2025 4-star LB DJ McClary
Penn State is trending in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine for 2025 Jersey City (N.J.) Henry Snyder four-star linebacker DJ McClary.
McClary will be in State College for the Nittany Lions’ White Out game against Iowa on Saturday, and Penn State recruiting insider Ryan Snyder entered an expert prediction ahead of McClary’s visit.
Snyder entered a pick with a 70% confidence level that McClary will commit to Penn State. Penn Sate now has a 97% chance to land McClary in the RPM.
McClary named a top eight in the summer with a list of Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee and USC.
He has been to State College multiple times, including for last season’s game against Maryland — a visit during which the Nittany Lions staff extended an offer to McClary.

McClary is the No. 109 overall prospect and No. 10 linebacker in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in New Jersey.
He does not currently have a publicly listed On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
2025 Penn State class off to hot start
Penn State currently holds commitments from two prospects in the 2025 class. Beebe (Ark.) The Woodlands four-star running back Kiandrea Barker pledged to the Nittany Lions back in April. Newark (N.J.) Malcolm X Shabazz three-star safety Omari Gaines committed a month before that.
“Just the love they gave me, and it’s an awesome university,” Barker told On3 about why he committed. “When I visited there, the coaches didn’t sugarcoat anything with me. They kept it straight up with me that when I get there it’s going to be straight work, and I like that. After that, I felt the love from everybody and it just felt like home.”
