Texas A&M DB transfer Tony Grimes, former 5-star signee, currently visiting Penn State
Former Texas A&M Aggies and North Carolina Tar Heels cornerback Tony Grimes is weighing his options after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.
On Friday, one of those options took center stage, as Grimes took a visit to Happy Valley, to gauge the interest of the Penn State Nittany Lions. He shared a photo of the visit to X (formerly known as Twitter), letting the world know.
Moreover, Grimes spent three seasons with the Tar Heels, and then transferred to Texas A&M ahead of the 2023 campaign. However, he did not play this past season for the Aggies. In total, he has 97 tackles, 74 solo tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception and one forced fumble in his career.
As a member of the Class of 2020, Grimes was a five-star recruit out of Virginia Beach (Va.) Princess Anne, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 1 prospect in the state, the No. 3 cornerback in the class and the No. 19 overall prospect in the class.
