Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas safety Conrad Hussey has committed to Penn State, he announced Monday morning on Twitter.
Hussey is the No. 447 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 44 safety and the No. 79 overall prospect in Florida.
“Many times in our lives, we come upon a crossroad and there is immense pressure to make the right decision for yourself, your leaders and last but not least – your family,” Hussey wrote in his announcement. “I am blessed to be faced with such an opportunity at this time and would like to use this platform to thank my @STA family, my coaches and all the persons who have played a significant role in my development. With God’s guidance and the love and support of my family, I have decided to commit to Penn State. ‘I’m coming home Happy Valley! #WeAre”

Hussey is the Nittany Lions’ 11th commitment in the 2023 cycle. And their fourth in the month of April alone. Another Florida prospect, quarterback Marcus Stokes, committed on April 8. The other two were tight end Andrew Rappleyea, April 3, and edge rusher Jameial Lyons, who just committed this past Friday, April 22.
Conrad Hussey is the second defensive back to commit to Penn State’s Class of 2023, joining Lamont Payne. Payne is expected to play cornerback, while Hussey will focus on safety, according to BWI’s Ryan Snyder.
