WATCH: Penn State 4-star WR commit Ejani Shakir goes up for touchdown catch
Atco (N.J.) Winslow Township four-star wide receiver Ejani Shakir has been committed to Penn State since May 11. The 6-foot-0, 175 pound wideout showcased why the Nittany Lions sought his services on Friday night against Franklinville (N.J.) Delsea.
In the red zone, Shakir was closely defended in the corner of the end zone. However, he out-jumped the defender and reeled in an impressive touchdown.
Shakir is the No. 328 overall prospect and No. 44 wide receiver in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player from New Jersey.
The Nittany Lions currently have commitments from one other receiver alongside Shakir. The New Jersey native expressed high praise for the program when he announced his pledge to head coach James Franklin and his staff.

“When you have the coaches showing as much love as they did, it feels great,” Shakir told On3’s Ryan Snyder. They were one of my early offers too, so they’ve been consistent.
“They’ve really seen me evolve and have stuck with me. Plus, I just think they’re the staff that’ll make me the best player I can be. I can be great there. They can take me to the league, but if it’s not about that, they’ll help me get a great job because of the education there. Everything is great around them.”
Shakir has an On3 NIL Valuation of $26K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
