WATCH: Penn State commit quarterback Drew Allar tosses a deep bomb
Quarterback Drew Allar is one of the top quarterback prospects in the nation. As a matter of fact, according to the On3 Class of 2022 recruiting rankings, he’s the top-ranked quarterback in his class.
On Friday night, the Penn State commit showed off why he’s worthy of the lofty ranking.
Check out this pass he threw in Medina’s (Medina, Ohio) game tonight against Stow (Stow, Ohio).
It was a beautiful toss that hit his wide receiver perfectly in stride. Medina defeated Stow tonight 38-27 and a big reason why was the surgically precise passing of Allar. He threw for a career high 523 passing yards and five touchdowns in the game.
Unofficially, 523 yards is tied for the fifth most all-time in northeast Ohio, according to the OHSAA record book.
Surgically Accurate
Allar places a beautifully accurate ball in his highlight tape and it doesn’t take long to see why he sits so highly in the On3 rankings.
The surgically accurate signal-caller can place the football from a variety of launch angles, whether it’s on the move or even a sidearm release at times on his tape.

Ohio State in hot pursuit
There are rumors swirling that Ohio State has entered Allar’s recruitment. According to The Athletic, Ohio State quarterback coach Corey Dennis went to watch Allar play last weekend.
It’s unclear how involved the Buckeyes are at this point in time, but it will be interesting to see if they get involved with the highly coveted quarterback prospect.
Drawing comparisons to Josh Allen
Allar drew comparisons to Josh Allen in this summer’s Elite 11 quarterback camp.
Allar and Medina are back in action on Friday, Sept. 17 against Strongsville. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. EST.
