Penn State was in a tight battle with Purdue heading into the closing seconds of the first half. That changed in the final 30 seconds after a Boilermaker fumble. That led to a final drive for the Nittany Lions and a wild, rumbling score.
After a pass interference call and an incomplete pass to Mitchell Tinsley, Sean Clifford found Brenton Strange for a 67-yard breakout run to the end zone for six.

Zakee Wheatley forced Purdue wide receiver TJ Sheffield to fumble the ball where it was recovered by Joey Porter Jr. That led to the drive where a pair of shed tackles got Strange in for a touchdown after Clifford’s throw after the scramble.
Purdue had led the game twice in the first half. After giving up two late scores in the end zone, Penn State now takes a 21-10 edge into the half.

WATCH: CJ Henderson blocks punt, scores touchdown to give WVU lead
Even though West Virginia starterd the second half on offense, they found a way to start off with an electric series of plays.
Pittsburgh went a quick three and out, trotting their punt team onto the field. As any head coach will tell you, all three phases of the game matter. The Mountaineers took that to heart, blocking the Panthers’ punt and putting themselves inside the five-yard line. CJ Henderson made the play and even set himself up for success.
On the first play of the drive, Henderson ran the ball right up the middle for the score. If there was ever a way to get a helmet sticker in the film room come Monday morning, it’s by blocking a punt and then punching it in for a touchdown yourself.
