Lakeland (Fla.) three-star wide receiver Daidren Zipperer committed to Pitt on Saturday night. He chose the Panthers over multiple programs including BYU, South Carolina and UCF.

Zipperer is the No. 925 overall prospect and No. 134 wide receiver in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 135 player in Florida.

The 6-foot-1, 170 pound prospect is the 19th member of Pitt’s 2023 recruiting class. He is one of four wide receivers in the group alongside Dallastown (Penn.) Dallastown Area three-star Kenny Johnson, Miami (Fla.) Miami Central three-star Lamar Seymore and Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons three-star Jesse Anderson.

Zipperer took an official visit to head coach Pat Narduzzi and his program on June 16. He also took official visits to UCF on June 10 and USF on Sept. 9.

The highest-ranked recruit in the Panthers’ 2023 class is Hendersonville (Tenn.) Pope John Paul II four-star quarterback Kenny Minchey, the No. 271 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. On3 rates him a little higher than other recruiting services as the No. 258 overall prospect in the 2023 On300. Pitt’s group currently ranks No. 38 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 7 in the ACC.

Zipperer was not the only member of Lakeland’s team to commit tonight. Prior to his annoucement, safety Kamaurri McKinley pledged to Toledo and cornerback Twan Wilson chose Jackson State.

Zipperer has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6.2K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
