Florida State WR Deuce Spann signs with Pittsburgh from the transfer portal
WR Deuce Spann has signed with Pittsburgh from the NCAA Transfer Portal per On3’s Pete Nakos.
Spann entered the portal back on November 29th. Now, three weeks later to the day, he’s committed and signed on to play for the Panthers next fall.
This comes after three seasons spent by Spann at Florida State following two prior to that at Illinois. During that span, he appeared in 37 games with 10 while with the Fighting Illini and then 27 more with the Seminoles.
In total, Spann had 15 receptions in his career for 216 yards and two touchdowns. 10 catches for 92 yards came while at FSU, including a lone catch this fall as a redshirt senior.

Per the latest in On3’s 2025 Top Transfer Portal Players, Spann is the No. 172 WR and the No. 1,157 overall transfer.
Now, Spann is the first pickup in the portal during this transfer cycle for Pittsburgh. That’s after the Panthers have lost ten players to this point of the window. Two defenders have committed elsewhere already in CB Noah Biglow (SMU) and DL Thomas Aden (Kent State). The other eight are QBs Nate Yarnell and Ty Dieffenbach, WRs Daejon Reynolds and Lamar Seymore, IOL Terrence Moore, DLs Elliot Donald and Nahki Johnson, and DE David Ojiegbe.
