According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Florida wide receiver transfer Andy Jean has signed with Pitt. The Panthers were not the only ACC team coming after Jean, as Louisville received a visit during his NCAA transfer portal recruitment. But Pitt wound up on the winning end, adding a wideout to their 2025 roster.

Injuries were an issue for Jean during his time with Florida, only playing in five games throughout his two seasons in Gainesville. Just six catches for 97 yards are on his career stat sheet, hoping to find more playing time and success with Pitt.

Jean played high school football at Miami (FL) Northwestern, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 397 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

“It was good to see him be able to execute and to get some experience,” Napier said of Jean during this past season. “I think that’s going to help his confidence. You can just see it. He got a chance to play in the Charlotte game and experience some success. … Andy’s opportunities have been increasing because he’s been preparing better, showing a better grasp, practicing better, more efficient, more productive, performing in practice. We’ve been playing him here the last couple of weeks as a result of that.

“Andy’s role will definitely grow here. … Sometimes a young, talented player, when they experience some success, that kind of fuels the fire, and then they show up to practice a little bit different, right? We’ve got a number of players that are like that. Andy’s a good example.”

Pitt signs defensive transfer from Ohio State

Ohio State transfer safety Jayden Bonsu signed with Pitt, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. The former four-star recruit will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Bonsu didn’t appear in a game during his two seasons at Ohio State. He took his redshirt as a freshman, giving him three seasons left to play.

Bonsu played high school football Hillside (N.J.) St. Peters Prep, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 285 overall player from the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
