Person arrested after making way to Pitt sideline before game
A person was arrested before Saturday’s game between Pitt and Georgia Tech for making their way onto the Pittsburgh Panther’s sideline ahead of kickoff. As per ESPN’s Andrea Adelson, there was no information available about how the person made it onto the field.

“A Georgia Tech spokesperson said Georgia Tech police made the arrest for criminal trespassing and that the person is in custody of local authorities,” reported Adelson. “There is no information immediately available about how the person got onto the field or what he was doing on the sideline.”
At the time there was no information about who the person was, but he was handcuffed and taken from the field by Georgia Tech police.
Despite the strange situation Pitt would go on to win the game 52-21, following a tremendous first half where they scored 42 points.

Pitt versus Georgia Tech
Quarterback Kenny Pickett led the Panthers to their huge victory with 389 yards and four touchdowns without a turnover. Pitt gained 580 yards on the day of total offense, and despite their defense giving up 432 yards, Pitt was able to force two interceptions and keep Georgia Tech from reaching the endzone often.
Pitt advanced to 4-1 on the season and a first place ranking in the ACC Coastal conference. with their only misstep coming to Western Michigan in a 44-41 loss. Georgia Tech falls to 2-3 on the season despite a close loss to Clemson and a win over Notre Dame.
Pitt now looks ahead to Virginia Tech for their next opponent, as well as upcoming games of their own against Clemson and Notre Dame. Meanwhile, Georgia Tech prepares for Duke on Oct. 9 and has two big matchups awaiting at the end of the season in Notre Dame and Georgia.
