Former Georgia wide receiver C.J. Smith has committed to Purdue, via the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Smith spent two seasons with the Bulldogs, making 11 total appearances. Smith played in nine games this season, tallying six receptions for 116 yards. Smith only appeared in two contests in his true freshman season before opting to use his redshirt.

While Smith isn’t massive, standing at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, he possesses stunning speed. The Florida native can run a 10.3-second 100-meter dash. Per DawgsHQ, Smith spent most of this season practicing with the second-team offense but received occasional reps with the starters.

CJ Smith played high school football at Mt. Dora (FL), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 311 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Smith is one of 13 players Purdue has added in the transfer portal this season. The Boilermakers currently boast the No. 17 transfer class, according to On3 Industry Rankings. Smith will be joined at Purdue by fellow former Bulldog Nyland Green.
