Jeff Brohm, Purdue agree on multi-year extension
Jeff Brohm is staying in West Lafayette a bit longer. Purdue announced Friday it agreed to a two-year extension with the Boilermakers coach through the 2027 season.
In addition, Purdue’s Board of Trustees approved a $45.4 million renovation of Ross-Ade Stadium — phase one of the project.
“We are fortunate at Purdue to have the fan and donor support necessary to continue investing in our sport programs and facilities,” Purdue athletic director Mike Bobinski said in a statement. “After such an exciting 2021 season of Purdue Football, we are pleased to announce an extension of head coach Jeff Brohm’s contract, and an initial set of enhancements to Ross-Ade Stadium that will benefit both the student-athlete and fan experience.”
Brohm is coming off his fifth season with Purdue, taking the Boilermakers to a 9-4 overall record and a 6-3 mark in Big Ten play. They made an appearance in the Music City Bowl, which they won 48-45 over Tennessee in a wild overtime finish.
In his five years at Purdue, Brohm has amassed a 28-29 record, but the 2021 season was a nice bounce-back from a rough 2020 campaign. The Boilermakers went 2-4 in the pandemic-shortened season, but dramatically turned things around last season. He’s set to make $5.1 million in 2022, and he’s expected to get a raise with the new deal.

Prior to his arrival in West Lafayette, Brohm spent three seasons as the head coach at Western Kentucky after a year as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He also worked at Illinois, UAB, Florida Atlantic and his alma mater, Louisville, as an assistant coach before WKU gave him his first head coaching opportunity.
“We are excited about the progress we have made over the past five years,” Brohm said in a statement. “We look forward to continuing to build our program into the future. I would like to thank our administration and fans for their support and our players and staff for their hard work and dedication. It is an honor to be the head football coach at Purdue.”
Purdue to renovate Ross-Ade Stadium
Purdue’s $45.4 million upgrades to Ross-Ade Stadium is the first phase of an extensive renovation project. In phase one, the university will construct a new team entrance and tunnel from the Kozuch Football Performance Complex as well as a nutrition and dining facility for student athletes in place of the current team store. The adjoining seating in the south end zone will also be connected as part of the project.
Officials said they will release more details about the rest of the project in the coming months.
