JUCO WR Leland Smith commits to Purdue Boilermakers

Fullerton (Calif.) College three-star JUCO wide receiver Leland Smith has committed to Purdue.
The Houston product chose the Boilermakers over Mississippi State, Miami and Temple.
Smith is the No. 21 overall prospect and No. 5 wideout in the JUCO ranks, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder is a welcomed late addition to West Lafayette for Ryan Walters and Co. Smith took an official visit to Purdue last weekend and was also greeted for an in-home visit by some of the Boilermakers coaching staff.
He becomes the 26th member of Purdue’s 2024 recruiting class — which ranks just outside the top 30 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Smith also becomes the fifth WR in the class.

Cincinnati Winton Woods three-star Tra’Mar Harris is the highest-ranked wideout in the mix, checking in at No. 664 overall. He’s flanked by the likes of Saint Petersburg (Fla.) Clearwater Central Catholic three-star Shamar Rigby and East Saint Louis (Ill.) three-star Jesse Watson.
Cincinnati La Salle four-star cornerback Koy Beasley is the highest-ranked signee headed to West Lafayette. He is the No. 132 overall recruit and No. 17 CB in the On3 Industry Ranking. Other top signees include Naperville (Ill.) North four-star safety Luke Williams, Midland (Texas) Lee three-star quarterback Marcos Davila and Pickerington (Ohio) Central three-star tight end Tayvion Galloway.
