Catchings committed to Purdue as just a junior in high school, before his recruitment really ramped up. Along with the Boilermakers, he also received an offer from Xavier, with interest from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan State, and others. It will be interesting to see who now jumps into his recruitment this late in the cycle, but Catchings likely will have a strong list of suitors.
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Catchings is the No. 39 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He’s also the No. 12 small forward prospect and the No. 3 player in Georgia. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
