Daniel Jacobsen, a four-star center in the class of 2024, has committed to Purdue.

The 7-foot-3, 235-pound center out of Brewster Academy (NH) ultimately chose the Boilermakers over Wisconsin. He also received offers from Creighton, Gerogetown, Providence, Illinois, Xavier, and others.

“I really like Purdue because of their play style and their history with bigs,” Jacobsen said to On3. “I feel like it’s the best place for me to develop and play on a successful team.”

In his own words, what type of player is Purdue getting in Daniel Jacobsen?

“I would describe myself as a stretch five that can not only play around the basketball but shoot the three and pass. I am also a good shot blocker and rebounder.”

He has a message to Purdue fans.

“I can’t wait to get there and get to work!”

Jacobsen, a Chicago native, is ranked as the No. 99 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to On3’s Top-150 Player Rankings.

Jacobsen Scouting Report

“You see the size immediately with Daniel Jacobsen, a true 7-footer. He has solid length and he moves well – very fluid. Jacobsen will need to continue getting stronger, but that should come as he continues to age (he is young fit his class). Jacobsen can really shoot the ball. He has range off the catch and a repeatable release and load. There is some capability already of shooting off movement, which is unique for a player his size. As he continues to get stronger, more will come with his defensive presence, but he is fluid and has solid timing. There is nice upside here and an intriguing – and clear – pathway as he continues to grow and develop.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
