The Purdue football program released a statement following CB Markevious Brown stepping away from the team.

“It is necessary for Markevious Brown to step away from the team at this time,” the statement read. “As of today, it is our expectation that he will rejoin the program for the 2025 season. This is a personal matter, and we will have no additional comments.”

The 5-11, 180-pound senior started all four games in 2024, making nine tackles with a team-high three passes broken up.

With Brown gone, junior Botros Alisandro is expected to start opposite Nyland Green, a Georgia transfer who made his debut last week after dealing with a foot injury, per Gold and Black’s Tom Dienhart.
