Purdue lands commitment from Kentucky transfer DL Jamarius Dinkins

Former Kentucky DL Jamarius Dinkins has committed to Purdue through the transfer portal.

In three seasons with the Wildcats, Dinkins tallied 23 appearances but never started. During his time in Lexington, Dinkins amassed 19 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack.

Dinkins slid down the depth chart this fall. Josaih Hayes and North Carolina transfer Keeshawn Silver took a majority of the snaps at nose guard in his place. He still appeared in 11 games and tallied nine tackles.

Dinkins played high school football at Columbus (Oh.) Walnut Ridge, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 644 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Dinkins was listed as the No. 48 available defensive lineman in the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3 Industry Ranking. Following the conclusion of his redshirt sophomore season, he will have two years of eligibility remaining. On Sunday, Dinkins announced his decision on X, formerly known as Twitter.
