On Monday, Purdue linebacker Hudson Miller announced he plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. He spent three seasons with the Boilermakers, including a redshirt season.

“I would like to thank the staffs from Coach Brohm, Coach Walters, and Coach Odom for all of the opportunities afforded to me,” Miller wrote. “These past 3 years have been nothing short of a dream and I am eternally grateful to the Purdue community, the fans, and the prestigious University I have been blessed to be apart of for experiences that I will hold dearly for a lifetime.

“Upon much thought and reflection and after conversations with loved ones, I believe that it is in my best interest to enter the transfer portal. I am thankful to be in a position to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the incredible Daniels School of Business in just 3 years this May, and will have 2 years of eligibility remaining. Forever Boiler Up and Hammer Down! God Bless.”

Miller appeared in all 12 of Purdue’s games last season. He started in the final five games of the season. Miller tallied 42 tackles, one tackle for loss, 0.5 sacks and two pass breakups.

Miller saw limited action during his redshirt freshman season in 2023. He played in 11 games but primarily played on special teams. He finished the season with six total tackles. Miller redshirted his true freshman season after appearing in just one game.

Hudson Miller played high school football at Cathedral (IN), where he was an unranked prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Miller will be the 35th Purdue player to enter the transfer portal this offseason. The program is experiencing significant roster turnover after firing head coach Ryan Walters and hiring former UNLV head coach Barry Odom this offseason.

To soften the blow of its losses, Purdue has added 30 players via the transfer portal. In his two seasons at the helm of UNLV, Odom led the Rebels to a combined 19-8 overall record and a 12-3 mark in conference play.

For his efforts, he was named the Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year in 2023. Now, Odom will look to find similar success at Purdue next season.
