On Friday, Purdue tight end Max Klare announced his plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. Klare has spent three seasons with the Boilermakers.

“After much thought and reflection, I have decided to enter the transfer portal,” Klare wrote. “With the current uncertainty surrounding the transition in Purdue’s football program, I believe it is important to evaluate all my options as we await the announcement of the new coaching staff.

“My three years at Purdue have been a time of incredible growth and unforgettable experiences, and I am deeply grateful for everything this program has given me. Thank you to my coaches, teammates, and the Purdue community for their support throughout my journey. I will be exploring all opportunities with the guidance of my family and my representation at Excel Football.”

Max Klare played in all 12 of Purude’s games this season. He finished the year with team-highs of 51 receptions, 685 receiving yards and four touchdowns. In the 2023 campaign, Klare appeared in five games and made four starts before suffering a season-ending injury.
