2024 Big Ten Wrestling Championships: Dean Peterson stuns national finalist Matt Ramos

Rutgers‘ Dean Peterson, the No. 9 seed at 125 pounds, stunned No. 1 Matt Ramos (Purdue), last year’s national finalist, 7-1 in the Big Ten quarterfinals.
The first big upset of the tournament didn’t take long Saturday afternon. Now Peterson will wrestle in the 125 pound semifinals against Minnesota’s Patrick McKee.
The insanity can be seen below.
Ramos beat Peterson 4-1 earlier this season when Rutgers and Purdue met in a dual. Now, Peterson gets McKee, whom he’s beaten before, in Saturday night’s semifinals.
Ramos got to the 2023 NCAA finals by pinning three-time national champion Spencer Lee of Iowa in Tulsa. That semifinal match was one of the highlights of that Friday night.
