Maryland CB Zilan Williams commits to Rutgers
Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic cornerback Zilan Williams has committed to Rutgers.
The 6-foot athlete announced the decision Friday with a video on Twitter.
Williams was supposed to make a visit south to Virginia this weekend but that is no longer the case.
He is the 17th commit in the Scarlet Knights’ 2022 recruiting class. The class has six four-star players in Brooklyn (N.Y.) Erasmus Hall linebacker Moses Walker, Princeton (N.J.) Hun School offensive tackle Jacob Allen, Philadelphia Neumann Goretti linebacker Anthony Johnson, Glenside (Pa.) La Salle College running back Samuel Brown, Stuart (Fla.) Martin County wide receiver wide receiver Amarion Brown and Delran (N.J.) EDGE Kenny Fletcher.
Walker and Allen are the No. 1 ranked players in New York and New Jersey, respectively.
Zilan Willaims is the second defensive back recruit in the class behind Hillsborough (N.J.) three-star cornerback Thomas Amankwaa.
Rutgers has the No. 30 class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.
