Harper on Rutgers: “It’s home, you know?”
In a previous interview with On3, Harper discussed the Scarlet Knights and his connection to the program.
“It’s home, you know? Every time I go there, it’s family, affection. The coaches really emphasize that. They’re not recruiting me just because of my brother (Ron Harper Jr.). They’re recruiting me, for me.”
Dylan Harper is the son of five-time NBA Champion Ron Harper. He’s also the younger brother of former Rutgers star guard Ron Harper Jr.

Scouting Report
It is the feel of the game that really pops for Dylan Harper. The lefty is a big guard; he has a strong frame with good length. While he lacks top-end burst, he always gets to his spots. Harper has a supreme feel for angles and footwork, and he does a great job of using his body and his hips to put defenders in ‘jail.’ His pace is never rushed; he always has a plan with the ball in his hands. He is more of a scorer than a shooter. While he can knock down a spot three, he does need to clean some things up there. Harper has a crafty handle with an array of hesitates and counters. He is great with angles around the basket and can score through contact without playing above the rim. He has great balance in the paint and – again – uses his body really well. At 6-foot-5, he really competes and plays with the utmost confidence. Harper is a good team defender. – On3’s Jamie Shaw
Harper’s NIL Valuation worth over $500K
Dylan Harper currently holds a $604,000 On3 NIL Valuation, which ranks 3rd in high school basketball.
The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.
About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value
While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.
The On3 NIL Valuation accounts for an athlete’s roster value and brand value. Roster value is the value an athlete has by being a member of his or her team at his or her school, which factors into the role of NIL collectives. Brand value factors in an athlete’s personal brand and the value it could bring to regional and national brands outside of the scope of NIL collectives.
