Four-Star SF Zion Sensley commits to St. Mary's
San Francisco (Calif.) Archbishop Riordan four-star small forward Zion Sensley has announced his commitment to St. Mary’s.
The 6-foot-8, 195-pound rising senior chose the Gaels over offers from Arizona State, Alabama, LSU, Hawaii, and others.
He becomes the first prospect of the 2024 cycle to choose Randy Bennett and staff.
Sensley spoke to On3 about his decision to choose St. Mary’s.
“I chose St. Mary’s because they’ve been recruiting me the longest, since early freshman year. The relationship I have built with Coach (Randy) Bennett and Coach (Justin) Joyner has been great. It feels like a family. I’d be able to go there and develop to become the best player I can be and also a place where I can get to the NBA from.”
In his own words, what type of player is St. Mary’s getting in Zion Sensley?
“I would describe my game as very versatile,” he says. “I’m long, I can defend, I can shoot very well and make the people around me better and also get to the rim at will. Just a great two way player offensively and defensively.”

Sensley Scouting Report
“Zion Sensley has a great frame, and he comes from good bloodlines. Sensely’s dad, Julian, was a top 50 recruit in the early 2000s and played professionally overseas for a decade. Sensley has a smooth shooting stroke from three, consistent release with good balance. He will mix it up on the boards and is a good area rebounder. Sensley is a late bloomer and still coming into his own on the floor. He is a solid athlete and is starting to attack closeouts, especially off one and two dribbles. While his offer sheet may not match, Sensely is tracking as a top 100 type talent in his class with the upside for more.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
