Miami wide receiver Brashard Smith has committed to SMU out of the NCAA transfer portal.

Smith played three seasons with the Hurricanes. He set career highs in receptions and yards in 2022 before a slight drop off this fall.

In total, Smith has 69 catches for 770 yards, four touchdowns and 11.2 yards per catch.

He’ll be a valuable addition for the Mustangs as they look to add some punch and quick pop to the passing game. Smith can certainly provide that as a quick-twitch athlete.

As a member of the Class of 2021, Smith was a four-star recruit out of Miami (Fla.) Palmetto, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 27 overall prospect in the state, the No. 28 wide receiver in the class and the No. 181 overall prospect in the class.
