4-star QB Tanner Bailey believes in Shane Beamer at South Carolina
Gordo, Ala. quarterback Tanner Bailey was committed to Oregon and planned to sign with the Ducks this week. That was before Mario Cristobal left Eugene for Miami earlier this month.
New schools reached out to Bailey quickly after he announced his decommitment. Indiana jumped on the On3 Consensus four-star quickly and he visited the Hoosiers last weekend. USC, Washington State, and a few others reached out as well.
South Carolina was one of those. Shane Beamer just finished his first regular season as the head coach for the Gamecocks and his staff made it known to Bailey that he had a spot in this class.
“I believe in coach Beamer and he is building something special at South Carolina,” Bailey told On3. “He’s bringing in elite players and setting the bar high for the kids, which leads to success. I’m super excited to be a Gamecock and can’t wait to get up there.”
Bailey sees a bright future at South Carolina
South Carolina finished 6-6 this season and will face North Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl December 30. They got big wins over Florida and Auburn late in the season and Bailey is excited about what’s to come.

“I love what coach Beamer and coach Satterfield have done for the program. It’s headed in the right direction and I’m pumped to be a part of it.
“South Carolina will compete at a high level against some of college football’s elite teams. I love what coach Satterfield does offensively, and how hard the guys play for coach Beamer.
It’s official, Bailey is a South Carolina Gamecock
Bailey quietly signed his letter of intent and sent it to South Carolina Friday morning. He couldn’t happier about this decision.
“I had schools that I grew very close to in the recruiting process, so this decision was very tough,” Bailey said. “I’m blessed to be in the position I’m in and I’m thankful for everyone who recruited me. I’m happy to have found a home in Columbia.”
