Alabama defensive line transfer Monkell Goodwine commits to South Carolina

Alabama defensive lineman Monkell Goodwine has committed to South Carolina out of the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on his Instagram account on Sunday afternoon.

Goodwine spent three years with the Crimson Tide but made minimal contributions. He appeared in two games in 2023, one game in 2022 and two games in 2021.

He did not account for any statistics while in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Prior to enrolling at Alabama, Monkell Goodwine was a four-star prospect and the No. 69 overall recruit in the 2021 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 9 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 2 overall player from the state of Maryland, hailing from Upper Marlboro (MD) Rock Creek Christian Academy.
