Dawn Staley rocks $3,000 Louis Vuitton jacket during Sweet 16 matchup
Dawn Staley earns $3.1 million per year, the second-most of any women’s basketball coach in the country. During South Carolina’s showdown against Indiana in the Sweet Sixteen, the Gamecocks head coach didn’t hesitate to flex what her hard work has earned her.
On Friday, Staley donned the “Hybrid Leather And Cotton Damier Blouson” from Louis Vuitton, which boasts a $3,150 price tag. The multi-colored jacket is nearly as eye-catching as South Carolina’s start to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
The Gamecocks won their first two NCAAW Tournament games by a combined 95 points. South Carolina leads Indiana by 17 points at halftime. Obviously, Staley didn’t become a seven-figure earner by accident.
South Carolina is only the third SEC program in conference history to win three straight regular-season conference titles. Staley has now led South Carolina to eight SEC regular season championships, eight SEC tournament championships, 11 Sweet Sixteens, five Final Fours and two NCAA championships.
Dawn Staley praises South Carolina’s bench
At South Carolina’s current rate, it looks like Staley is about add more accomplishments to her lofty résumé. After South Carolina’s blowout win over North Carolina in the Round of 32, Staley raved about her team’s depth.
“Super proud. One of our keys is always bench production,” Staley said. “The amount of rebounds and points that they can accumulate as well as just being able to hold serve defensively in what we want to do.”

The Gamecocks had three double-figure scorers off the bench in the contest, actually outdoing the five starters (who had two). MiLaysia Fulwiley led the way with 20 points, while Chloe Kitts had 12 points and Tessa Johnson had 11.
Fulwiley, in particular, was a monster off the bench. She turned in 20 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and three steals.
“I think with MiLaysia, one, she didn’t want to have the type of performance she had the first time that we played,” Staley said. “I think she has something to prove to herself, and something to prove to the game.
“I think she’s wired that way. MiLaysia is super smart. Some of the stuff she does out there, I thought her passing up an opportunity to go score, to give it to Breezy (Hall) so Breezy could see the ball go in. Like that, little type stuff, is incredibly — like she’s aware, she’s aware of situations that you really don’t think her young mind is really thinking about.”
