Davonte Miles signs with South Carolina
Miles isn’t the only player to join South Carolina this portal cycle. Former Alabama LB Justin Okoronkwo committed earlier this week.
He played in all 13 games for the Crimson Tide in 2024, finishing the year with 14 tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss.
Okoronkwo is from Germany. He originally chose Alabama over Michigan, Penn State, Nebraska, South Carolina and others. Okoronkwo entered the transfer portal earlier this month after playing for Alabama in the ReliaQuest Bowl against Michigan. He committed to the Crimson Tide back in July of 2023.
Okoronkwo helped Alabama to a 9-4 record in 2024, which was Kalen DeBoer’s first season as the Crimson Tide head coach. He is now joining a South Carolina program that also finished with a 9-4 record this past season. The Gamecocks bring back a lot of talent, particularly on offense. But they are losing several key players on defense. Perhaps Okoronkwo can step in and be an impact player for the Gamecocks.
