Former Campbell EDGE rusher George Wilson committed to South Carolina, On3’s Pete Nakos reported. This is the third school of his career.

Wilson originally started his career at Florida State before transferring to Campbell. Now, he returns to Power Four football for 2025.

This past season, Wilson logged 11 solo tackles, four sacks and one forced fumble. He had seven sacks in two seasons with the Fighting Camels.

As a member of the Class of 2021, Wilson was a three-star recruit out of Virginia Beach (Va.) Green Run, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 11 overall prospect in the state, the No. 52 EDGE in the class and the No. 486 overall prospect in the class.

South Carolina lands George Wilson out of transfer portal

Wilson comes in via the transfer portal on the defensive side of things. On the flip side, South Carolina lost offensive lineman Kam Pringle to the portal earlier this week.

“First off, I would like to thank God for putting me in this position! I want to thank the University of South Carolina, the amazing coaching staff, my teammates, the fans, and everyone associated with the university who have had a hand in my success during my time spent here.” Pringle wrote on his graphic. “To South Carolina, thank you for the lifelong friendships and memories. I am appreciative of the opportunities I’ve received here.”

“After discussing with my family and thinking long and hard on my decision, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal with four years of eligibility remaining,” wrote Pringle. “I look forward to the opportunities God has in store for me!”

Pringle appeared in one game over last fall for South Carolina with some snaps during their final game of September. That would end up with him redshirting, which gives him those four years of college eligibility left to use at his next program.
