Former USF SG Kobe Knox commits to South Carolina

Former USF shooting guard Kobe Knox committed to South Carolina out of the NCAA transfer portal. He spent two seasons with the Bulls after two at Grand Canyon.

In 30 games las year, Knox hit double digits in points. He averaged 10.8 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game, 1.6 assists per game, shot 46.3% from the floor and 33.1% from three-point range.

As a member of the Class of 2020, Knox was not ranked, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He played his HS basketball at Tampa Catholic (Fla.).

Kobe Knox commits to South Carolina out of portal

Knox will head to the SEC after another productive season with the Bulls. It’s a nice pickup considering the Gamecocks just lost Cam Scott to the portal.

Scott just finished his freshman season in Columbia. In total, he made 26 appearances, all as a reserve off the bench, for the Gamecocks. During his ten minutes per game, Scott averaged 2.5 points and 1.3 rebounds.

Scott, a native of Lexington, South Carolina less than a half hour off campus, was a four-star prospect coming out of high school as the No. 20 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle. He also rated as the No. 1 player in the state and a Top-10 SG in the class.

That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. That made him the program’s top-signee by far in the last recruiting class as another important hometown addition like the one two years prior in GG Jackson.
