Florida State DL transfer Gilber Edmond commits to South Carolina
Former Florida State defensive lineman Gilber Edmond has committed to South Carolina. He started his career with the Gamecocks before joining the Seminoles in 2023.
Edmond appeared in 14 games for Florida State this past season, totaling 23 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack in that time. Prior to that, he spent three years at South Carolina and put together a career season in 2022 with 39 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. He then entered the transfer portal and joined forces with Mike Norvell at FSU.
All told, in his four years, Edmond has 67 tackles to go with 11.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks. Now, he’ll be returning to Columbia for one more season.
Gilber Edmond played high school football at Fort Pierce Westwood (Fla.) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,360 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
