On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: South Carolina trending for Kelvin Hunter

Florence (S.C.) West Florence four-star safety Kelvin Hunter named his top five schools earlier this month, a list that included Appalachian State, Auburn, Michigan, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.

And just a few weeks later, one schools is heavily trending as the favorite to land him in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). According to the RPM, South Carolina holds a 99.0 percent chance of securing his commitment.

No other program is currently above 1 percent.

Hunter is the No. 190 overall prospect and No. 18 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the No. 4 recruit in South Carolina.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder finished this past season with 103 total tackles, including 19 for a loss, six pass breakups, one interception, and four forced fumbles.

He has an On3 NIL Valuation of $51K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
