Williams-Brice Stadium was already one of the most exciting environments in the SEC, and now it’s even more exciting for fans thanks to some extra work put in by the South Carolina game operations crew to make every game something to remember

“The pressure to deliver has never been more intense for Game Ops crews at every stadium in the country,” Herbstreit wrote. “With people not as motivated to come to games-these folks are the MVP’s to the fan experience. Some get it better than others. Great example of getting it here! Congrats!!”

South Carolina’s traditional ‘Sandstorm’ pre-game hype song is now even more stupefying thanks to a light show that now coincides with the waving of towels.

None of it matters if the Gamecocks can’t get it done on the field, though, but head coach Shane Beamer seemingly has South Carolina on the right track after a few down seasons. They’ll have their hands full with No. 19 Arkansas this coming Saturday and No. 3 Georgia after that.

Sam Pittman offers thoughts on Spencer Rattler, South Carolina belief in him

Sam Pittman’s No. 19 Arkansas team started the season strong with a 31-24 win over No. 23 Cincinnati. The Razorbacks will now open SEC play in Fayetteville against the South Carolina Gamecocks. With their big change at quarterback, Pittman is well aware of the damage they could do.

Pittman shared what he thought about Gamecock QB Spencer Rattler, specifically after his SEC debut this weekend. He says Rattler plays with a ton of confidence to the point where it energizes his whole team.

“I like (Rattler). He plays like a guy that’s played before. Experienced, got a lot of poise, got a lot of confidence. You can just feel his confidence through the film. I got a chance to watch the game a little bit live,” said Pittman. “Anytime you have a quarterback, like KJ with us, he’s either going to have the whole team feel confidence about him or the whole team reacts to what the quarterback does. You can see that a little bit with South Carolina.”

Rattler notably transferred to South Carolina from Oklahoma during the offseason. He was effective in the Gamecock’s 35-14 opener win against Georgia State. Rattler completed 22-36 passes for 218 yards, a touchdown, and a pair of interceptions.
