Miami (OH) transfer WR Gage Larvadain commits to South Carolina
Miami (Ohio) transfer wide receiver Gage Larvadain committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks on Friday evening. This season, he hauled in 42 catches for 649 receiving yards and six touchdowns for the Redhawks.
For his career thus far, he’s hauled in 138 total catches for 1,931 receiving yards and 13 total touchdowns.
He was one of the most highly coveted names available in college football’s free agency this offseason. Some of the nation’s top programs either offered or expressed interest in the Mid-American Conference’s leading receiver this season.
Larvadain told On3 he had been in contact with Michigan State, Ole Miss, Houston, Baylor, Memphis, Tulane, California, Minnesota, Marshall, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Louisiana Tech, South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisville, Auburn, Miami, Kentucky, Indiana, James Madison, Duke, Washington and UCF.
The wide receiver began his collegiate journey at Southeastern Louisiana, where he recorded over 1,200 receiving yards over two seasons before deciding to transfer.
With the guidance sent to schools by the NCAA recently, fall athletes who decided to transfer will be allowed to immediately play in 2024-25 academic year without securing a waiver. Larvadain led Miami in received yards this season, averaging 16.2 yards per catch with six touchdowns.
