South Carolina announces linebacker Mo Kaba to miss remainder of season with knee injury
South Carolina linebacker Mo Kaba was ruled out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury, according to a release from the program.
“Just awful news,” Gamecock Central’s Mike Uva wrote on Twitter. “Linebacker Mo Kaba has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a left knee injury, per a press release from South Carolina.”
Kaba began his fourth season with the program but did not register any stats in the loss to North Carolina.
He only played two games last season after playing 10 in 2021 for the Gamecocks. In just two games last year, Kaba had eight total tackles, five solo and 0.5 tackles for loss. He also had a pass deflection.
In his best season two years ago, Kaba registered 32 total tackles, 17 solo tackles and two tackles for loss.

Mo Kaba lost for season as South Carolina starts 0-1
Kaba was the latest blow to South Carolina’s early slate of the season. The Gamecocks couldn’t get too much going in the opener against rival North Carolina, a 31-17 loss.
“We were an absolute mash unit out there tonight with injuries,” head coach Shane Beamer said after the loss. “Lost a lot of starters for the game early, early in the game. Proud of some of these young guys who came in tonight and played a lot more than they expected. We have to get a lot better.
“Tonight was nowhere near good enough but we knew coming into this game with the amount of youth we have on this team with the amount of true freshmen that we were going to have to play tonight, that we would be a team that continued to get better. We have to do that. Have to play better. Have to coach better. Confident we will.”
