The Garnet Trust has been active this offseason, announcing new NIL deals with key pieces at South Carolina. Another one came down Saturday afternoon.

Nyck Harbor re-signed with the Gamecocks-focused collective, the organization announced. That signals his return to South Carolina for the 2025 season, as well.

Harbor is one of the many notable names to sign with the Garnet Trust after the transfer portal window opened. He joins a group that also includes LaNorris Sellers, who announced a new deal with the collective on Christmas Eve.

Harbor is coming off a strong 2024 season at South Carolina, hauling in 24 receptions for 376 yards and three touchdowns. It was a good step forward from his freshman year when he had 12 receptions, 195 yards and one touchdown.

Harbor’s arrival was a key moment for Shane Beamer and South Carolina. He was a highly rated recruit out of Washington (D.C.) Archbishop Carroll, where he was a five-star prospect and the No. 21 overall player from the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Locking in Nyck Harbor is another important move for the Gamecocks, who continue to keep key parts in place for 2025. Sellers was one of the biggest, officially re-upping with the Garnet Trust Dec. 24 after multiple teams pursued him, On3’s Pete Nakos reported.

“Ever since the LSU game, he’s been having programs reach out to his people,” a Power 4 personnel staffer recently told On3 about the the Sellers situation. “Then as he kept balling out he’s only had more and more programs reach out. I mean he had playoff-caliber teams blowing up his phone like crazy before the Clemson game. After? That shit hasn’t stopped ringing.”

One of the top defensive players is also back in the fold for 2025. Dylan Stewart signed with the Garnet Trust on Dec. 10 after arriving as the highest-rated recruit of Beamer’s tenure. He was a Five Star Plus+ prospect – meaning he was one of the only players ranked by all four major recruiting media companies as a five-star – and the No. 17 overall player from the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

South Carolina’s season came to an end this week in the Citrus Bowl with a loss to Illinois. The Gamecocks finished with a 9-4 record, including a six-game win streak entering that bowl game, and are already generating buzz in the way (way, way) too early rankings for next year.
