Harrisburg (Pa.) Susquehanna Township four-star wide receiver Lex Cyrus has committed to South Carolina, he announced on Thursday.

Cyrus chose the Gamecocks over Penn State, as well as more than 20 other reported offers. He took official visits to both programs in June, and while he’d frequented Happy Valley multiple times in the past two years, the out-of-state school ultimately won out.

“With South Carolina, all the facilities and stuff are great, but they were really stressing what’s important to them, like family and their culture and being locked in,” Cyrus told BlueWhiteIllustrated in May. “So, I learned that they have a fun team mentality and really make sure they’re bonding, but when it’s time to get on the field, they want you locked in. They were really showing me what ways I can help them and were breaking it down. They really did a great job showing me that it’s a place I want to be.”

The On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average of the four major recruiting media sites, ranks Cyrus as the No. 218 overall prospect and No. 27 wide receiver in the class as well as the No. 7 prospect in Pennsylvania.

On3 is higher on him than the other three services though, ranking Cyrus as the No. 109 overall prospect and No. 16 WR for 2025.

As a junior, Cyrus totaled 67 catches for 1,115 yards and 13 touchdowns. And he’s also a star on the track as well, winning a state championship in the 100 meters in 2023 and clocking times of 10.41 in the 100 and 21.64 in the 200.
