According to On3’s Joe Tipton, South Carolina has landed Christ Essandoko via the NCAA transfer portal. Essandoko joins the SEC program after previously playing at Providence. A nice pickup for head coach Lamont Paris early in the cycle.

He played 22 games for the Friars, including seven starts while averaging 14.9 minutes per game. This past season, Providence finished 12-20 overall with a 6-14 record in the Big East. The Friars lost six games in a row to end the season, including a first-round exit in the conference tournament.

Essandoko began his career at St. Joseph’s, where he averaged 8.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. Now set to play for Paris in Columbia, it will be his third school in three seasons in college basketball.

According to his On3 recruiting profile, Essandoko held offers from the likes of Wake Forest, Rutgers and Seton Hall, among others.

As of Wednesday, March 26, over 1,250 Men’s College Basketball players have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. That number is expected to grow as the 2024-25 college basketball season nears its end.

South Carolina’s Nick Pringle plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal

South Carolina’s Nick Pringle has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned.

On3’s Joe Tipton reported his entry into the portal this afternoon. With it, Tipton noted that Pringle also intends to test for the 2025 NBA Draft.

“NEWS: South Carolina big man Nick Pringle is entering the transfer portal, he told @On3sports,” Tipton tweeted on Monday. “Will also test the NBA Draft waters.”

Pringle just finished his one year at South Carolina after transferring in following two seasons at Alabama, one at Dodge City Community College, and one at Wofford. That brought him to 117 games in Division I with the Terriers, Crimson Tide, and Gamecocks, including 48 starts the past two seasons as he was a full-time starter this year in Columbia. He had the most successful years of his career at ‘Bama, though, when the Tide won two conference titles and, in the postseason, reached a Sweet 16 in 2023 and a Final Four in 2024.

Over his college career in the NCAA, Pringle has averaged 5.9 points (63.2% FG) and 4.4 rebounds. That included career highs this season as a graduate student with 9.5 points (57.2% FG), 6.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists.
