Ric Flair shouts out Dawn Staley, South Carolina amid women's national championship game
Ric Flair made it known who he was rooting for in Sunday afternoon’s national championship between South Carolina and Connecticut. Flair posted on X during the game in support of the Gamecocks, who are in search of their second straight title and fourth overall under Dawn Staley.
“Go GAMECOCKS And The Great @dawnstaley!” Flair wrote. “WOOOOO!”
Flair, a former WWE wrestler, previously had a feud with SEC Network analyst Paul Finebaum a couple of years back over the Michigan football team. He is on the SEC’s side for this game, however, cheering on South Carolina.
Unfortunately, however, Flair would not get to see the outcome he hoped for. The Huskies put together a dominant 82-59 win to claim their 12th national title under coach Geno Auriemma.
